As a performer, Kyle has spent a lot of time studying, practicing, and learning from various directors, instructors, shows, and characters. Kyle had the opportunity so far to be cast, and perform, in three main stage productions at Southwestern University since attending in 2018. These roles alongside advanced level acting classes, masterclasses, and learning from mentors, have grown Kyle into a highly
determined actor.

MR. GORF

My work on the character of Mr. Gorf came from direction (from Bethany Corey-Ekin) of finding youthful energy in an older character. As a children's show antagonist, I had to match the energy of the children while given a demanding and authoritative presence. I had to learn to
have fun with this character instead of taking it too seriously.

Donny

Spring 2019
As Donny Dubrow, I had to grow an understanding of a weathered and gritty older man. As the protagonist in a play critiquing capitalism, Donny is a sad man who has all but given up on finding more outside of his pawn shop. I personally brought I glimmer of hope to the character of Donny
Dubrow with the help and direction of the director, Clayton Brooks.

Mr. Laurence
Little Women: The Musical

Spring 2020
Mr. Laurence took a lot of character work to work through. With the help of the director, Joey Banks, I was able to find a realness in a man 50 years older than my own age. The show concept of relationships and connection was my focus on learning what Beth truly means to Mr. Laurence
and how that affects his perspective on life.

Puppeteer
She Kills Monsters

Fall 2021

Being a puppeteer under CB Goodman taught me an avenue of performance that was totally foreign to me. From making your puppet the star actor to techniques of complete focus on said actor, I learned more from this show, and it's discipline, than any other show at Southwestern.
